Readminded Privacy Policy

Jiasstudio, a sole trader based in South Australia, Australia ([ABN: 64279051706]), is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use the Readminded mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

a. User Content

• What: Notes or text you input or scan using the App's Optical Character Recognition (OCR) feature, powered by third-party software.
• How: Processed and stored locally on your device. No User Content is sent to our servers or third parties unless explicitly stated.
• Purpose: To provide the App's note-taking functionality.

b. Survey Data

• What: Non-personal data from optional onboarding or experience surveys (e.g., preferred reading platforms, app usage feedback). Surveys may include device metadata (e.g., IP address, timestamps) collected automatically by Google Forms.
• How: Transmitted to and stored on Google Forms, a third-party service operated by Google LLC, under the account jia.software.studio@gmail.com. Google's servers may be located outside Australia (e.g., in the United States).
• Purpose: To analyze user preferences and improve the App.
• Consent: By submitting survey responses, you consent to this data transfer and storage.

c. Device Permissions

• What: Access to your device's camera (for OCR scanning) and file storage (to save notes).
• How: Requested via device settings. You can manage or revoke permissions at any time.
• Purpose: To enable OCR and note storage functionality.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and improve the App's functionality (e.g., OCR processing, note storage).
• Analyze survey responses to enhance user experience and develop new features.
• Comply with legal obligations (e.g., responding to data deletion requests).

3. Data Storage and Security

• User Content: Stored locally on your device. If you uninstall the App, all User Content is deleted and cannot be recovered.
• Survey Data: Stored on Google Forms' servers. We take reasonable steps to secure our Google Forms account (e.g., two-factor authentication), but we are not responsible for Google's security practices.
• Security: We implement reasonable measures to protect data within our control, but no method is 100% secure. You use the App at your own risk.

4. Data Sharing

• Google Forms: Survey responses are shared with Google LLC via Google Forms for storage and analysis. Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) applies to their handling of this data.
• Other Sharing: We do not share User Content or other data with third parties except as described in this Privacy Policy or with your consent.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our rights.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., Australia, EU), you may have rights to:

• Access: Request a copy of your survey data.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your survey responses stored on Google Forms.
• Objection: Opt out of surveys at any time.

6. International Data Transfers

Survey data sent to Google Forms may be stored on servers outside Australia (e.g., in the United States). By using the App, you consent to this transfer. We comply with applicable data protection laws, including GDPR for EU users.

7. Third-Party Services

• Third-Party Software: Used for on-device OCR processing. No User Content is sent to third parties unless analytics are enabled (currently disabled). The software is licensed under the Apache 2.0 License, with details available in the App's "Licenses" section.
• Google Forms: Used for survey data storage and analysis. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.

8. Future Subscriptions

The App is currently free. In the future, we may offer premium subscriptions via Apple or Google In-App Purchases. Any additional data collection (e.g., account information) will be disclosed in an updated Privacy Policy.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we have such data, contact us to request deletion.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you via an in-app prompt or other reasonable means. Your continued use of the App after updates constitutes acceptance.
